430 Pound Sumo wrestler finishes LA Marathon

On Sunday the 26-year-old Ethiopian Markos Geneti finished runner-up the Los Angeles marathon in 2 hours, 6 minutes and 35 seconds; to win the race and the final match of the previous record set in 2009.

But for the wrong day to Markos picked history. His performance was overshadowed by Kelly Gneiting, 40-year-old, 430-pound American Sumo wrestler, who completed the marathon 9 hours, 48 minutes and 52 seconds.

Kelly also broke the record; in his time, as well as the LA Marathon 2008, 11: 52: 11. And on Sunday, the Guinness world record certified Kelly-national Sumo wrestling champion of triple- the heaviest person 26.2-mile race.

Kelly in the first 8 miles jogged Torrential rain and the final of the beak has walked to the end of the 18. The 10-mile race into Kelly says he became delirious and thought about the suspension, painful blisters on his feet, but towards the end of the race, he received a second wind.

"I have been really struggling for the last five miles," Kelly told reporters, "but I said to myself," if I do not want to crawl, I will. ""

After the race around calling themselves Kelly goofed, "one of the best athletes in the world." with the media, and he joked, saying, "I would like to see improve in his Marathon in a time of two hours of Kenya."

Kelly has not been included in the calculation of his super-sized runners to build to the test. He also wants to swim the English channel, the Philadelphia Eagles play and hiking to the Everest Dead Sea MB..

Kelly better hurry, though, the average life expectancy studies argue-Sumo wrestlers, is short; 60-65 years old. Sumos is a greater risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and diabetes; also, all of the risks associated with obesity.
